If your airports are not connected to your Mac, what do you do? One of the intentions behind the airports was that you could connect and use any device registered with iTunes. They will provide big sound in many devices and will work seamlessly in all of them. Of course, nothing has ever been done for the plan and there have been some complaints about airports which they should not connect.
Keeping in mind their price, you would expect airports to work seamlessly and provide premium audio experience. While playback is of decent quality, living with airpods is not always fun which we would expect.
Fix Airpod not Connecting to Mac
If your airpad does not connect to your Mac, then there are some things you can try. There is no single fix that guarantees work, so it is a process of elimination. I will start with the fastest and easiest reforms and gradually get more involved. Try one and try again. If this works, then great If it does not, then go to the next.
Although this tutorial is about airpods not connected to the Mac, the same principles apply to any device. The method on the iPad may be different than a Mac, but the effect should be the same. Feel free to customize these issues on any Apple device with which you are having problems.
Check that you have Bluetooth running
One of the most common mistakes I’ve seen with AirPods is that Bluetooth is not running on Mac. Select bluetooth and turned it on. If it turned off than turn it on again. You can also toggle the Bluetooth button on your display if you wish.
Add your airplane again
To work with Bluetooth devices, your airpod must first be connected with that device. Even if you have already added them, now it will be a good time to repeat the process. It can reset the connection and the airpad enables to work properly again.
- Keep your airplane in your charging case but open the lid.
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your Mac.
- Hold down the setup button behind the case.
- When you see the flashing white light, your airplanes are in pairs mode.
- Allow them to pair with your Mac.
If the Aircodes do not pick Mac, then manually select them in the Bluetooth window on your Mac. If this does not work and the airpodes appear in the Bluetooth window, then forget it by selecting the ‘X’ button on the right side of the airpload in the Bluetooth window. Then try adding them as above.
Ensure that the AirPod is Output Device
When you connect the airplanes on the Mac, they should automatically become the default output device. If it does not, then follow the steps manually.
- Navigate to System Preferences and select Sound.
- Select the Output tab.
- Select the airpload as the output device.
Make sure the airpod is charged
If you’ve just upgraded the wired headphones to the airplanes, then you have to go into the habit of charging them. This is a small thing but it is easy to ignore it till you are in habit. Plug the AirPod charging case into your Mac and leave it for a while to charge. Then retest
There is a battery to help keep the airpod up in the charging case, but if it gets reduced or runs out, nothing will be to charge the airpod.
Make sure your Mac is up to date
Airpods need to run the latest version of MacOS properly so that if nothing else has worked, it may be worth checking into your updates. It gives your system anyway, so it is worth trying.
- Open the App Store and select the Update button at the top.
- Download all updates listed.
- Let Mac reboot if necessary.
Most of us automatically download any OS updates, so this method can not work for you. However, this is easy to do because it is still worth trying.
Reset your airplane
Within a set of airpods the firmware is minimal but can still cause problems. If you have tried to do everything else, then it is worth trying. A reset will reset your airports to factory specs. You have to add them again to your device again, but this is the price you have to pay.
- Keep your airplane in your charging case.
- Hold the Setup button on the case.
- When you see the amber flashing light, leave the button. After this it should be turned into white which indicates that the reset is complete.
- Set the airports on your device by holding the case next to your phone and waiting for the setup animation.
- Select Connect and then Done
- Now more with a couple more pairs now with your Mac.
